Bennett's First Christmas

Christmas is always a very busy time of year for us. We have a lot of family and it is important to us to try to spend time with everyone. Unfortunately, because Christmas landed in the middle of the week this year, and due to me starting a new job without PTO, we weren't able to spend time with ALL of our family, and we hope they understand that we really missed spending time with them this year and hopefully we can make up for it later.

Friday Dec. 20th, we had Bennett's 4 month check up and shots. We were really surprised to find out how little Bennett really is! We thought he was such a chunk! Josh's mom said Josh was always in the low percentiles also, usually pretty lean growing up, so we suspect Bennett will be the same.

Stats:
2 month appointment
  • Weight: 11lbs 8 oz. (31%)
  • Height: 22 inches 9 cm (45%)
  • Head Circ: 15 inches (19%)
4 month appointment

(notice the drool covering Bennett and Josh!)

On Christmas Eve, we hosted my mom's family at our house. We went to church, ate appetizers for dinner and opened presents. Unfortunately, Bennett missed out on most of the presents because he can hardly keep his eyes open past 8 PM. But I don't think he realized he missed out:)

Such a sweet picture of my mom and Bennett

Going to be best buds someday! Can't wait to see them play together in a year.

Bennett and I on Christmas morning. Bennett decided he couldn't wait for Santa to arrive, so he made it an early morning for Josh and I. We were up at 4 AM, 5AM, and finally for the day around 6:30AM.

Later that day, we went to Josh's parents house to open presents, eat dinner, and play some games. Grace was very anxious to help everyone open their presents. Here she is helping Bennett open his stocking.

Bennett enjoyed ripping at the paper and putting it in his mouth. He really didn't realize the gifts were for him. But that is ok, we enjoyed it for him!
