Brooklyn {Eight Months}

What a little ham. This little ball of happiness just smiles and smiles. I cannot say it enough, she seriously is the happiest, easiest baby. If I was guaranteed all my babies would be like her, I would have 25 of them......but, I won't. I honestly just don't want her to get any bigger. I love her so much at this stage!!!

Length, Weight, Percentiles: Still don't know the answer to this one. 9 Month check up is next month!

First Halloween!

Features: Little miss still has her two bottom teeth. I can feel a third, top tooth trying to pop through. We also have been experiencing a little crankiness, rosy cheeks, runny nose, and messy diapers-so I KNOW she is teething. Slllllooooowwwwllllyyy growing some hair on top of that little bald head of hers. Don't worry, I put alot of bows on her so everyone knows she a little girl. Brooklyn is so long. She has legs for days, just like her Aunt Brittany! She looks almost identical to Bennett at this age too.

Closer look at those little teeth (after eating some baby food)

Sleep: Getting better and more consistent! She has been sleeping through the night, most nights.....she has off nights here and there but for the most part sleeps from 7:30pm-7am. She naps most days 2 times a day, morning and afternoon. Occasionally she will fall asleep in the car on the way home from daycare and it will be a short evening catnap.

Diet: She is eating more and more baby food. She loves eating baby food. I try to feed her more, but it is so hard to remember (ahhh second child probs). No table food yet, she can't get those little fingers to grab. We have been trying some baby puffs with her lately and she enjoys eating those. She is getting better with eye/hand coordination to get them into her mouth. Still eating 5-6 ounces of formula every 3-4 hours.

She is trying SO hard to crawl, just can't figure it out......yet!

Clothes and Diapering: 6 and 9 month clothes and size 3 diapers. No changes here!

First Thanksgiving at Grandma Sara's

Social: Such a ham. She loves smiling and the attention. She has been imitating sounds more often lately. Josh will "cough" and she will "cough" back. She babbles and loves to "talk." She loves when you sing to her, dance with her, or make silly noises.

Her and Bennett are just too much for my heart to handle. She adores him and he is such a big help with her (although we really have to reiterate "gentle!" with him). She will watch every move he makes and she is so tough with him, although I would prefer him be a little easier on her. He can smother her, lay on her, roll over her, etc and it will barely phase her (again, second child probs). She rarely gets overwhelmed with him, which is shocking to me because I am almost ALWAYS overwhelmed by him!

She is comforted by being held and almost always wants to be held now (or at least up high so she can see what is going on!). I have to be careful not to be seen by her at times. She has become quite attached to both Josh and I, especially when she is around new people. Developed a little bit of stranger danger, but I think it is mostly when she is tired.

Some new things Brookie is doing: rocking on her hands and knees, launching herself forward (can't quite get those hands to move to crawl yet), pushing herself backwards, she is just about pulling herself up to sitting position from laying down, rolling back and forth across the room to get to something (crawl, girl, just crawl!)

Santa Train to the North Pole!!!

Likes: Songs, Eating Baby food, Patty Cake, New Toys, Bennett's toys (much to his dismay), Sucking her thumb

Dislikes: Bath time, being constipated (I mean, do you blame her?), when she is tired and wants to go to sleep, getting dressed after a bath, having a dirty diaper, being left to sit (when she wants to be held.

Brooklyn {Seven Months}

Length, Weight, Percentiles: No new update here. Next Dr. visit is at 9 months

Features: Baby blues, long legs, and her hair is finally growing in! Barely.....but it is coming in! Still has just the two little baby teeth.

Sleep: Brooklyn goes back and forth between sleeping all night and waking up once a night. She might have 2-3 good nights and then wake up a few nights in a row. We can't quite figure out how to get her to consistently sleep through the night. Sometimes it is just easier to get up and feed her. She sucks a bottle down in 5 minutes and we are usually only up for 10 minutes max. We occasionally let her whine and cry lightly on and off, depending on how tired we are. Sometimes she falls back to sleep and goes in and out of sleep for a couple of house, which can be good and can be super annoying if you stay awake while she is doing it.

She goes down at night easily between 7-8 PM. She naps 2-3 times a day for an 1-2 hours. She can put herself to sleep and most mornings we wake up and she is already bright eyed and smiling in her crib. We rarely wake up to her crying and crabby.

New friends at Iowa games!

Diet: She is eating 5 oz of formula and 1-2 servings of baby food a day. We have noticed that as she eats more baby food she rarely wants a full bottle of formula at night which leads to LOTS of wasted formula. But, the moment we don't give her a full bottle, are the times she sucks it down and wants more. So hard to figure her out!

She loves eating solids. Her favorites are peas, which blows my mind since momma DESPISES peas. I can hardly even feed her peas, it grosses me out so much.

 Clothes and Diapering: Wearing mostly 6 and 9 month clothes and size 3 diapers.

Some daycare pics-our last days at Melissa's!

Social: Little missy has become quite the little scaredy cat lately. She is developing stranger danger and prefers mom or dad over strangers. She hates seeing people in hats and gets more scared of males than females. She gets more scared at evening than in the morning, mostly probably due to her being tired. She also recognizes when I leave the room and does NOT like that either.

She does a great job sitting up and playing with her toys. This is my absolute favorite! I love that she is so easily entertained and is not quite yet mobile. She is working on crawling though! She gets up on her hands and knees but can only seem to move herself backward by sliding.

She rarely cries and has absolutely no issues with Bennett jumping on her, hugging her, laying with her, although it looks quite overwhelming. She is so tough. Guess that is what having a big brother will do for ya.

Some of the new things Brooklyn is doing: sitting up, grabbing for toys, picking up little puffs (although she has a hard time getting them into her mouth still), pulling herself into a crawling position, moving herself backwards

Likes: Still loves songs, dancing, patty cake, peek a boo, examining anything and everything, Bennett's toys, and this is a weird one but she LOVES having her nose sucked (I mean, who wouldn't enjoy breathing?!)

Dislikes: when her diaper is dirty, trying to go #2 (little miss has quite the #2 issues),  being tired, surprisingly baths are also not a super favorite, she would rather get in and get out quickly.

Brooklyn {Six Months}

Six Months is a huge milestone, in my opinion. Six months is when life starts to get easier, especially now with two kids. How can it be that she is already 6 months? I honestly feel like I was just pregnant.......last week.

Length, Weight, Percentiles:
26.5" tall (76% for height) (was 25.5" at 4 mos)
16lbs 7.5 oz. (58% for weight) (was 14lbs 2.5 oz at 4 mos.)

What a little personality this one has

Features:
Brooklyn as two little teeth popping through on the bottom, and perhaps a third, but it hasn't made an appearance yet. She has been really good with teething so far, I don't notice any crankiness or pain.

Sleep:
This little one is sleeping through the night, not every night, but more consistently. She sleeps from 7:30 or 8 PM until 7 AM most nights. Once, maybe twice a week, she wakes up to eat but falls right back asleep.

She naps 2-3 times a day, one morning nap, one afternoon nap, and sometimes a mid-evening nap. Naps range in length from 30 minutes to 2 hours.

She is still a super baby and can easily put herself to sleep. Little miss has become quite the little thumb sucker, which is seriously so adorable!

She will self-entertain herself in the morning and we usually never have to wake her up. When we walk into her room, she always lights up like she has been awake and just hanging out.

Diet:
Officially 100% Formula as of last week. She eats 5-7 oz. every 3 hours. She also eats baby food once a day (if we remember and/or have the energy or time for it). She loves peas, carrots, and pears. She is not as big of fan of bananas.

Clothes and Diapering:
Wearing 6 month clothes, but could easily start wearing 9 month clothes. She is also wearing size 3 diapers.

Momma never gets any pictures with the kiddos, so this was a treat!

Social:
Still little miss chatty. She loves to babble and have conversations with herself or anyone who will talk to her. She can be somewhat loud, especially in quiet places, hmmm wonder where she gets that from?

She has become so enthralled with Bennett. She watches his every move and thinks he is just hilarious. Bennett also loves the attention and will easily continue what he is doing over and over and over if it gets a laugh out of her. She loves watching all kids in general though too. She still loves songs and it is her favorite activity.

Some of the things Brooklyn is doing: Rolling from back to belly, and belly to back. She will rotate herself in clockwise or counter-clockwise fashion. She is also starting to sit up. We typically need a boppy behind her, or have to sit next to her to just barely hold her back if she starts to fall forward or back.

Likes: Songs, Airplane, Peek-a-boo, Toys that sing or light up, playing with her feet, sucking her thumb

Dislikes: I am hard pressed to find something here. She pretty much loves life. I cannot think of one thing she dislikes......being hungry? that's typical and an easy fix. She rarely gets overtired because she will just fall asleep anywhere. She tends to get cranky after 7 PM, but we make it a point to try to be home with her. No one wants to be out with a cranky babe. She hates her shots.....but who doesn't? If I was guaranteed all my babies would be this happy and easy, I would have a million of them......
