Brooklyn {Three Months}

Length, Weight, Percentiles:
Month 3 is a month of unknowns. Since we do not have a Dr. Appt. this month, I just have to guess;
I would guess she is 12.5-13 lbs, she was 11lbs 14oz. at her 2 month check up. She was 23 inches at her 2 month check up, so perhaps 24-25 inches now? She is much longer than Bennett ever was, already outgrowing her footie pajamas, tall girl!

Features:
Not much change here. Hair appears to be the same color and not growing in much more. Eyes are still blue, complexion still rosy and dark.

Her smile comes easy to her now, and her toothless grin lights up the room as her eyes sparkle with delight. She is so fun to make smile. We have gotten snippets of baby giggles, but no full on belly laughs yet.

I hear more and more how much she looks like me, although she still carries most of Josh and Bennett's features. My mom, grandma, and sister all think she resembles pieces of me in certain photos, so that is nice to hear.

Sleep:
Back and forth, depending on the week, but not horrible. One week she may have a good week and wake up just once at 3 or 4 AM, the next week she will wake up at 12 or 1 and again at 5 or 6. She is always ready for bed by 7:30-8 PM, and don't dare try to keep her out much later than that or she will have a meltdown.

Still so easy to put down for naps and bedtime. She loves to self sooth and rarely needs cuddles or rocked to fall asleep. She is "Miss Independent."

She is still napping 4-5 times a day, anywhere from 45 minutes to 3 hours, but not usually in her crib, usually in her rock and play in the living room.

Diet:
Brooklyn prefers nursing over a bottle, which can get frustrating at times. I need to try out a few more bottles to see if she changes her mind. She despises formula and it is always a struggle to give her a bottle of formula. I don't mind nursing her, when we are home, but sometimes it would be nice to take a bottle or use formula while we are out. Usually, Josh and I just get frustrated and I end up nursing her anyways to make her happy. If she does take a bottle, which she does when we are not around her, she will eat 4 oz. at a time, around every 2.5 hours.

Clothes and Diapering:
Going to switch to size 2 diapers next time we run out of diapers.

She is slowly outgrowing all of her 0-3 month clothes and wearing more 3 month and 3-6 month clothes. Any footie pajamas that are 0-3 months are out, she is much too long for them. Luckily, summer clothes are mostly dresses and onesies and shorts, so they don't look too short on her like pants would.

Social:
Smiling consistently these days. Momma and Daddy get the best smiles out of her. Bennett tries to copy everything we do, but he usually gets blank stares........poor guy. I think she is wondering who that crazy wild kid is:) He can be a bit overwhelming for her too, I think. He tends to be a little too aggressive so we have been working on being gentle.

She is cooing much more and has the most adorable little conversations with herself and us. She is also giving us little previews of her giggles, but those are still far and few between.

Brooklyn has discovered her  hands and is constantly observing and studying them, or sucking on them. She bats at the toys on the play mat, but I don't think she understands how she is accomplishing that.

She is still usually perfectly content laying on her play mat or in her rock and play observing the sights and sounds around her. She is so laid back and observant, she makes life so easy with two. She still loves the movement on the tv or ceiling fan. She gets such a kick out of the ceiling fan, it is hilarious. She is also very entertained by the mirror on her play mat or the lion on her carseat.

Likes:
Being outside, baths, looking in mirrors, movement on the TV, ceiling fans, baths

Dislikes:
Being put into her carseat, having a burp she cannot get out, being rocked or held when she wants to go to sleep
